Companion and co-worker of [[Paul]], from [[Colossae]]. Founder of the churches in [[Colossae]], [[Laodicea]], and [[Hierapolis]]. Likely converted by [[Paul]] in [[Ephesus]].
[[Paul]] described him as "a dear fellow servant" in [[Colossians 1]]:7 and "a servant of [[Christ]] [[Jesus]]" in [[Colossians 4]]:12-13. Despite being in [[Rome]] with [[Paul]], he continued "wrestling in prayer" for the churches he planted, praying that they would "stand firm in all the will of God, mature, and fully assured."
[[Paul]] valued him highly as a trusted co-worker who worked hard for the gospel. He is also mentioned in [[Bible/Books/Philemon|Philemon]] 24.
