Companion of [[Paul]], mentioned alongside [[Bible/Characters/New Testament/Luke|Luke]] in [[Colossians 4]]:14. Unlike other companions in that passage, [[Paul]] offered no special commendation or description of Demas, simply naming him among those sending greetings. This lack of commendation is potentially telling. In [[2 Timothy 4]]:10, [[Paul]] wrote that Demas "has deserted me and has gone to [[Thessalonica]]" because he "loved this world." His desertion stands in stark contrast to the faithfulness of [[Paul]]'s other companions.
